Concentric & Eccentric Buttweld Reducers

Most Common
ASME B16.9 β€” Concentric Reducer

Concentric Reducer

Both ends are on the same centreline (axis). Used in vertical piping, gas lines, and wherever pipe centreline alignment must be maintained. The more common type for general applications. Both inlet and outlet are concentric β€” symmetrical around the pipe axis.

ASME B16.9 β€” Eccentric Reducer

Eccentric Reducer

One side (flat side) is straight β€” the two ends are not on the same centreline. Used in pump suction lines to prevent air pockets (flat side up), and in horizontal lines where the bottom of pipe must be level (flat side down) for drainage.
